Change to PG&E Heating & AC Rebates

Recently PG&E announced changes to their Residential Rebate Program. Starting January 1st 2010 rebates for all climate zones except for 11, 12, & 13 are as follows.

  • Removal of rebates for 92% AFUE furnaces
  • AFUE >= 94% < 96% forced air furnaces only - $150
  • AFUE 96% or greater forced air furnaces only - $250
  • For all you Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and Salinas PG&E clients these rebates of $150 to $250 apply to you. These rebates are in addition to the $1500 tax credit that is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Bottom line is that in 2010 a homeowner can upgrade to an energy efficient furnace with about 50% of the purchase being covered by rebates and credits.

    To apply for your PG&E rebate be sure to include specific model number of unit installed, a paid invoice, and rebate application. You’ll find the rebate catalog at www.pge.com/rebates.
